Last week I attended the CMO Forum in NYC and you could tell by the atmosphere, the content, and the networking that everyone is ready to proceed with interest. I would say that more than three quarters of the people I spoke with had serious commercial interest. In addition I have also attended a couple of Colorado events this month organized by CSIA and MoMoCo respectively and the mood was upbeat at both events. During his talk at the MoMoCo event the CEO of Mocapay confirmed that the VC market has turned around in recent weeks with VC”s starting to cold calling his company again (after he had to make external efforts in late 2008). I’ll be travelling to the UK in a couple of weeks time and I’ll be interested to see if things are turning around there too. I know the UK suffered related financial problems after the US sub-prime mortgage meltdown, so it’ll be interesting to see if the UK is benefiting on the flip side of the recovery. I certainly hope so!
